Halloween is all about pretending you are someone you aren’t.  So, naturally, this is a big weekend for The Liars Club. We’ve got 3 free events on tap, including a “Monster Liars” reading/celebration, our monthly Writer’s Coffeehouse, and a huge multi-author signing.  Hey, what else are you going to do all weekend? Probably eat a ton of Snickers Bars from the goodie bowl, right? So save yourself, and join us!

Here are the details:

MONSTER LIARS EVENT: They’re monsters. They’re Liars. And on Saturday, October 30th from 1-3 p.m. they are invading The Next Page bookstore at 722 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia for an afternoon of free Halloween chills and fun for all. This event will feature eleven Liars Club authors dressed up as ghosts, ghouls and fools. Check out their bizarre costumes, and hang out while they tell truly terrifying tales of terror and mayhem for the older crowd. In another part of the store, they will share silly Halloween tales perfect for children.  As an added bonus, kids who come to the event in costume will get free treats.

The Next Page, which opened in May, sells a variety of gently used books at great prices.  The store’s profits go toward the Friends of the Free Library, an organization that supports libraries throughout Philadelphia.

Costume-clad authors at this event will include NY Times Bestseller L.A. Banks (Vampire Huntress, St. Martin’s Griffin), Philadelphia Daily News columnist and author Solomon Jones (The Last Confession, Minotaur Books), NY Times Bestseller and Stoker Award winner Jonathan Maberry (Rot and Ruin, Simon and Schuster), Stoker and Nebula nominated fantasy author Gregory Frost (Shadowbridge, Del Rey), forensics thriller author Jon McGoran, who writes as D.H. Dublin (Freezer Burn, Berkley), best selling mystery writer Merry Jones (The River Killings, Minotaur Books), celebrated crime author Dennis Tafoya (Wolves of Fairmount Park, St. Martin’s),  contemporary fiction author Kelly Simmons (Standing Still, Washington Square Press), young adult author Marie Lamba (What I Meant…, Random House), actor and historic author Keith Strunk (Prallsville Mills and Stockton, Arcadia) and magazine writer/social media guru Don Lafferty.

For more information, call The Next Page at 215-925-0722.

WRITER’S COFFEEHOUSE: On Halloween, from noon-3 p.m., join the Liars and a slew of published and aspiring writers from far and wide at The Liars Club’s free monthly Writer’s Coffeehouse.  The coffeehouse always meets on the last Sunday of the month in the back events room at the Barnes & Noble, 102 Park Ave, Willow Grove, PA.

No writing experience required, no reservations either. Just an interest in writing.  This free-wheeling discussion covers the writing business and writing life, and is a great place to meet creative people in the community. So stop in.

HUGE HALLOWEEN SIGNING WITH LIARS!: Before those costumed kids start ringing the doorbell, get into the spooky spirit on Halloween by mingling with 10 authors who write about zombies, vampires, murder and mayhem.  It all happens on Sunday, October 31st from 3-5 p.m. when the Barnes and Noble at 102 Park Ave in Willow Grove, PA hosts a signing of Liars Club authors. This signing happens right after our Coffeehouse.

Authors at this event will include Liars L.A. Banks, Jonathan Maberry , Gregory Frost, Merry Jones, Solomon Jones, Kelly Simmons, Marie Lamba, Keith Strunk and Don Lafferty. Also featured will be Janice Bashman (Wanted Undead or Alive, Citadel).

For more information, or to reserve an author’s book in advance, call the Barnes and Noble at 215-659-1001.
